“Cooperation for Resilience” Conference

On February 1–2, 2025, Uzhhorod hosted the first International Conference, “Cooperation for Resilience”, bringing together 28 delegations from partner countries, along with representatives from the European Commission and UNESCO. Among them, 19 delegations included ministers and deputy ministers of culture.

Organized by the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine with UNESCO’s support, the Conference was a key step in implementing Ukraine’s Internal Resilience Plan, unveiled in Parliament by President Volodymyr Zelenskyy. One of its main pillars is “Cultural Sovereignty”.

The Conference resulted in the adoption of the “Declaration on Strengthening the Resilience of the Cultural Sector in Ukraine”. The document outlines joint efforts by Ukraine and international partners to protect cultural heritage and rebuild cultural infrastructure.

As of February 20, 2025, 27 countries have joined the Declaration: Republic of Albania, Republic of Austria, Republic of Bulgaria, Republic of Croatia, Republic of Cyprus, Czech Republic, Kingdom of Denmark, Republic of Estonia, Republic of Finland, French Republic, Federal Republic of Germany, Hellenic Republic, Italian Republic, Republic of Latvia, Republic of Lithuania, Grand Duchy of Luxembourg, Republic of Malta, Republic of Moldova, Montenegro, Kingdom of the Netherlands, Republic of Poland, Republic of Slovenia, Kingdom of Spain, Kingdom of Sweden, Ukraine, Portuguese Republic, Ireland.

The Declaration remains open for all partner countries and international organizations to join.
