On 19 October 2018, at 11:00am, a press conference “Successful Stories of the Information Struggle with the Russian Aggressor during the 1917-1921 War of Independence (on the 130th anniversary of the birth of Ilarion Kosenko, a prominent champion of Ukrainian independence)” will be held at the press centre of Ukrinform news agency.
At the press conference, a book of selected articles by Ilarion Kosenko and his biography, “Amidst the Information Struggle”, will be presented, and successful stories of the information struggle with the Russian aggressor during the 1917-1921 War of Independence, as well as after its failure, will be highlighted.

Additional information. In 1918, the Ministry of Press (Information) and Propaganda of the Ukrainian People’s Republic (UPR) was established. Despite many fallacies in the Ministry’s work, in 1919-1920 a number of advances were made in the field of information resistance to Russian aggression against the newly independent Ukrainian state. One of the prominent leaders of the Ukrainian Diaspora in France, Ilarion Kosenko (1888-1950), who was deputy minister of information and propaganda and, later, minister of posts and telegraphs of the UPR, was among the masterminds of this information struggle
