On 9-11 April 2019, university students in Poltava are to meet with Volodymyr Zhemchuhov, Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy and Hero of Ukraine. The meetings will also be attended by Dmytro Zolotukhin, the Deputy Minister of Information Policy.
On April 9th, the meeting takes place at Poltava Law Institute of Yaroslav Mydryi National Law University in Room 206 (14 Pershotravnevyi Ave), at 1:00pm. At noon, a press conference is scheduled for local news media (Room 204).
On April 10th, Mr Zhemchuhov meets with students of Poltava State Agrarian Academy in the hall room at 11:00am (academic building 1, 1/3 Skovorody St).
On April 11th, the meeting is held with students of Poltava National Pedagogical University in Room 45 (academic building 1, 2 Ostrohradskoho St), at 10:00am.
The meetings will be in “open microphone” format, with anyone wishing to do so able to ask their questions and take part in discussions. Also, “Prisoners of the Kremlin”, a film produced by the order of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, will be presented.
At the end of the meeting, the participants will be given discs with the film and other information materials.
Volodymyr Zhemchuhov has supported resistance to Russian aggression. Since May 2014, he has been organising and actively participating in the resistance movement against Russian occupation. From 29 September 2015 through 17 September 2016, he was held captive by militants of the so-called “LNR”, having blown himself up on a trap wire and been seriously injured. Mr Zhemchuhov has also taken an active part in state and volunteer initiatives in Ukraine and abroad, including military and patriotic lectures and discussions with pupils, cadets, and servicepeople.
