On 27-28 March 2019, university students in Rivne and Ostroh are to meet with Volodymyr Zhemchuhov, Adviser to the Minister of Information Policy and Hero of Ukraine. The meetings will also be attended by Artem Bidenko, the Ministry’s State Secretary.
On March 27th, the meeting takes place at the National University of Ostroh Academy in the hall room at 10:30am (2 Seminarska St, Ostroh).
On March 28th, Mr Zhemchuhov meets with students of Rivne State Humanitarian University in the hall room at 11:00am (31 Plastova St). At 10:00am, a press conference is scheduled for local news media (Room 409).
The meetings will be in “open microphone” format, with anyone wishing to do so able to ask their questions and take part in discussions. Also, “Prisoners of the Kremlin”, a film produced by the order of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, will be presented.
At the end of the meeting, the participants will be given discs with the film and other information materials.
Volodymyr Zhemchuhov has supported resistance to Russian aggression. Since May 2014, he has been organising and actively participating in the resistance movement against Russian occupation. From 29 September 2015 through 17 September 2016, he was held captive by militants of the so-called “LNR”, having blown himself up on a trap wire and been seriously injured. Mr Zhemchuhov has also taken an active part in state and volunteer initiatives in Ukraine and abroad, including military and patriotic lectures and discussions with pupils, cadets, and servicepeople.
