On 6 March 2018, at 2:30 p.m., a press conference ‘Including the Crimean Tatar Ornament Örnek in the List of Objects of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine’ will be held at the news agency Ukrinform.

Additional information. The depiction of the traditional ornament Örnek belongs to the most ancient achievements of the Crimean Tatar culture. This is a unique phenomenon of world culture, related in thematical and symbolical terms to the ancient history of Crimea, and to all the civilizations which have ever crossed this land: Scythians, Byzantine, Turkic. The Crimean Tatar decorative art reached its apex during the period of the Crimean Khanate from the second half of the 15th to the end of the 18th century.
It should be recalled that on 12 February 2018, the Ministry of Culture of Ukraine supported the initiative of the NGO Alam to draw the legacy of the indigenous people of Ukraine closer to Europe and included the Crimean Tatar ornament Örnek in the National List of the Objects of Intangible Cultural Heritage of Ukraine (decree No 105 by the Ministry of Culture dated 12 February 2018).
