On 18 May 2019, the events dedicated to the commemoration of the victims of the genocide of the Crimean Tatar people—the 1944 deportation—are due to take place at the Expocentre of Ukraine exhibition centre.
As part of the commemoration, the arts project “The Stolen Crimea. The History of Deportation,” created by Crimean Tatar and Ukrainian artists with the support of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, will be presented.
Members of the diplomatic missions in Ukraine, Ukraine’s senior officials and MPs, heads of regional state administrations, foreign and Ukrainian news media, representatives of international funds, and Ukrainian and foreign businesspeople have been invited to the event.
The project is designed to show the emotions and the essence of the tragic events that repeat themselves century after century, and remind ourselves that unpunished and unjudged evil grows and attacks again.
The events begin on 18 May 2019 at 2:00pm, at 1 Akademika Hlushkova St, Pavillion 1.
Accreditation for news media is available until May 17th, 6:00pm, via [email protected].
