Special Screening of the documentary “Warriors of Light: ARTISTS” will take place in Kyiv

On October 21 at 5:30 PM, a special screening of the documentary film “Warriors of Light: ARTISTS” will take place at the “KRAKIV” Cultural Cluster in Kyiv.

The film tells the stories of seven Ukrainian artists who were already recognized for their creative achievements before the full-scale war began — and who voluntarily joined the ranks of Ukraine’s defenders.

Three of the seven featured heroes have a strong connection to Kyiv:

  • Iryna Sereda, a film director with dozens of films and TV series to her name, is now a combat medic who has personally evacuated over 300 wounded soldiers;
  • Serhii Vasyliuk, the legendary frontman of the band “Tin Sontsia”, has served as a volunteer since spring 2022, continuing to perform patriotic concerts and raise funds for his unit even while on duty;
  • Dmytro Balkhovitin, one of Ukraine’s leading landscape photographers, is a multiple award-winner in national and international photo contests.

The main goal of the film is to preserve the truth and to highlight the strength, dignity, and responsibility of creative individuals who stood up to defend their country, language, culture, and freedom.

During the event, an interactive mobile exhibition will also be presented, showcasing both the artistic and military journeys of the film’s protagonists.

The project is implemented by the NGO “Local History and Cultural Society ‘D.I.Y.’” in partnership with D1 TV channel (Dnipro), with the support of the Ukrainian Cultural Foundation.
Film partners include the “KRAKIV” Cultural Cluster (Kyiv) and “Planeta Kino” (Dnipro).

Admission is free.
