On February 24, two significant artistic events featuring the National Ensemble of soloists “Kyivska Kamerata” will take place in Copenhagen to mark the third anniversary of russia’s full-scale invasion of Ukraine.

At 4:00 PM, a service in support of the Ukrainian people will be held at Holmen Church, initiated and supported by the Parliament of the Kingdom of Denmark. King Frederik X of Denmark, Queen Mary, Speaker of Parliament Søren Galle, and the Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Ambassador of Ukraine, Andrii Yanivskyi, will be in attendance.
During the event, “Kyivska Kamerata” will perform works by notable Ukrainian composers like Yurii Shevchenko, Victoriia Poliova, and Valentyn Sylvestrov, with Danish pianist Elisabeth Nielsen joining them.
At 5:30 PM, the Ukrainian House in Denmark and the Danish Cultural Institute will host another event featuring works by Ukrainian composers. This program includes pieces such as the overture and “Dances of Spirits and Furies” from Dmytro Bortnianskyi’s opera “Alcide”, “Maria’s City” by Zoltan Almashi, “Chorale” by Hanna Havrylets, and several works by Myroslav Skoryk and Roman Hryhoriv.
The evening will conclude with Roman Hryhoriv’s “Song of the Unborn”, which is partially performed on a casing of a russian cassette shell that fell on Ukrainian soil. This piece serves as a requiem and a symbol of hope for a peaceful future.
Additionally, Bohdana Pivnenko, People’s Artist of Ukraine and artistic director of “Kyivska Kamerata”, will perform several Ukrainian musical masterpieces.
