On July 10 in Rome, during the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025), the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, held several meetings focused on protecting and restoring Ukrainian cultural heritage during the war.
In a meeting with Hanna Wróblewska, the Minister of Culture and National Heritage of the Republic of Poland, Mykola Tochytskyi discussed future cooperation and invited Poland to join the Cultural Heritage Preservation Fund.
He also met with Valéry Freland, Executive Director of the ALIPH Foundation. The parties discussed key areas of cooperation, especially preserving cultural sites. Mykola Tochytskyi invited ALIPH to support the Rome Manifesto, which aims to create an Alliance for Cultural Resilience, and to join the initiative to establish a Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund.

With Paul Grod, President of the Ukrainian World Congress, the discussion focused on preserving historical memory, completing the National Holodomor-Genocide Museum project, and bringing together global efforts to protect Ukraine’s cultural heritage.

In a meeting with Dawi van de Weerd, Ambassador for International Cultural Cooperation of the Netherlands, they discussed strengthening bilateral cultural cooperation and working with the International Criminal Court to address crimes against cultural heritage. This is part of a broader international effort to hold russia accountable for its actions in Ukraine.
