1,080 cultural heritage sites in Ukraine have been damaged due to russian aggression

The Ministry of Culture and Information Policy continues to document damages to cultural heritage sites in Ukraine as a result of russian aggression. From February 24, 2022, to May 25, 2024, 1,080 cultural heritage sites have been destroyed or damaged. Among them, 121 are of national importance, 879 of local importance, and 80 newly discovered.

Cultural heritage sites have been damaged or destroyed in 18 regions:

– Kharkiv region – 302;

– Kherson region – 150;

– Donetsk region – 125;

– Odesa region – 116;

– Chernihiv region – 70;

– Kyiv region and Kyiv city – 69;

– Zaporizhzhia region – 46;

– Mykolaiv region – 45;

– Dnipropetrovsk region – 39;

– Lviv region – 36;

– Luhansk region – 30;

– Sumy region – 26;

– Khmelnytskyi region – 10;

– Poltava region – 6;

– Vinnytsia region – 4;

– Zhytomyr region – 4;

– Kirovohrad region – 1;

– Cherkasy region – 1.
