A meeting was held at the MCSC with a BAFTA-winning film producer

On May 23, Galyna Grygorenko, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, held a meeting with British film producer Hayder Rothschild Hoozeer, whose short film “Rock, Paper, Scissors” won the 2025 BAFTA for Best British Short Film.

They discussed upcoming screenings of the film in Ukraine and abroad, as well as new ways to share the reality of the war in Ukraine through cinema.

Hayder Rothschild Hoozeer reaffirmed his commitment to helping international audiences better understand what is happening in Ukraine.

Galyna Grygorenko highlighted the importance of creative projects that bring Ukrainian stories into global focus. She also expressed interest in working together to help the film reach a wider audience.

Directed by Franz Böhm, “Rock, Paper, Scissors”, follows 18-year-old Ivan, who protects his surgeon father and injured civilians in a hospital in eastern Ukraine during the russian invasion. The film stars Ukrainian actors Oleksandr Rudynskyi, Serhii Kalantai, and Yurii Radionov, and was made in close cooperation with the Ukrainian community. It has already been recognized at several international film festivals.
