A working meeting was held in Kyiv at the American House with representatives from the Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, the leadership and team of the American House, and the new members of the Public Diplomacy Department at the U.S. Embassy, led by Jonas Stewart. The meeting continued ongoing cooperation aimed at helping Ukraine’s cultural sector stay strong during the full-scale war caused by russia’s invasion.

During the meeting, the Ukrainian side shared the government’s main priorities in culture and strategic communications and explained key parts of their European integration efforts. Special focus was given to supporting Ukrainian media, especially regional outlets that keep working in dangerous areas near the front lines and temporarily occupied territories.
They also talked about holding the aggressor country responsible for illegal actions against Ukraine’s cultural heritage in occupied areas. The importance of international support in stopping attempts to steal and destroy Ukrainian identity was highlighted.
The Ministry of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine expressed gratitud to the American House team for organizing this productive meeting and the U.S. Embassy team for their constant support of Ukrainian culture, democracy, and independence. Together, we are working toward victory and protecting Ukraine’s heritage for future generations.
