#HelpUkraineSong – a global movement aiming to unite the world on the Eurovision Song Contest 2023 finals day in solidarity with Ukraine whilst raising money for children affected by the war. The event will take place on May 13, 2023 at 12:00 pm BST or at 2:00 pm Kyiv time.
#HelpUkraineSong will be the world’s largest physical and digital flash mob. It will take place across the UK during the build-up to Eurovision 2023 and on the final day of the contest. People will come together to perform ‘With A Little Help From My Friends’ by The Beatles’ at 12.00 pm BST and donate to War Child, the only specialized charity for children affected by war.
Anyone can get involved in either the large-scale events taking place around the country or smaller scale community sing-a-longs, or from the comfort of your own sofa. In the run up to, and on the day of the contest, people are invited to upload their version of the song to any social media channel with the hashtag #HelpUkraineSong – or simply sing, dance or mime along to it.
The solidarity campaign will be organized by the creative company Aurora with the support of the National Museums Liverpool, War Child, the Ministry of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine and Hoshva PR & DGTL.
This movement will demonstrate solidarity with those affected by the war in Ukraine and encourage participants to raise funds for War Child, so this charity can continue developing and deploying its life-saving work to protect, educate, and provide for the millions of children impacted by the ongoing war.
Ukrainian Eurovision artists past and present, as well as the Ukrainian public, will be taking part either on the day or online. This movement will also be supported by leading musicians and ambassadors around the world.
Partner organizations such as museums, art galleries, businesses, brands, retailers, theaters, sports organizations and community groups are all getting on board, bringing in musicians, artists, dancers. They are planning physical flash mob moments which members of the public can get involved with at midday on Saturday 13 May 2023 .
Partner organizations include: Science Museum Group, Science & Industry Museum, National Science & Medium Museum, Royal Albert Memorial Museum, RAF Museum, National Portrait Gallery, Hull and Brighton City Councils.
