In France, Sergii Bieliaiev held meetings to support and preserve Ukraine’s cultural heritage

On March 18, Sergii Bieliaiev, Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, held several important meetings on preserving and supporting Ukrainian cultural heritage during his official visit to France.

One of these meetings was with Luc Allaire, Secretary-General of the French Ministry of Culture.

During their discussion, Sergii Bieliaiev expressed Ukraine’s gratitude for the support of international partners in protecting its cultural heritage and encouraging broader cooperation in this area.

As part of his visit, he also met with Julien Bargeton, President of the Cité de l’architecture et du patrimoine. They discussed the possibility of organizing a joint exhibition in 2026, showcasing both the destruction and survival of historical, architectural, and urban landmarks amid the ongoing conflict. The French side agreed to provide exhibition space and curate multimedia materials.

Additionally, Sergii Bieliaiev, accompanied by Charles Personnaz, Director of the National Heritage Institute, visited restoration workshops where Ukrainian specialists had previously interned. As an architect by training, the Deputy Minister suggested expanding the training program to provide more opportunities for Ukrainian restorers and students from relevant universities.
