Meeting between Tetyana Berezhna and Swiss Ambassador Felix Baumann: support for cultural cooperation and strategic initiatives

On October 7, Acting Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Tetyana Berezhna, met with Minister of Foreign Affairs of Ukraine Andrii Sybiha and the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Swiss Confederation to Ukraine, Felix Baumann.

Tetyana Berezhna expressed her gratitude to Switzerland for its steadfast support of Ukraine and for the joint efforts to strengthen cultural and humanitarian cooperation.

She shared key outcomes of the Ukraine Recovery Conference (URC2025) held in Rome, where several cultural initiatives were presented, including the Ukrainian Cultural Heritage Fund and the Cultural Resilience Alliance.

It is expected that the operational framework of the Fund will be unveiled at the second international conference “Cooperation for Resilience”, scheduled to take place in early November in Copenhagen.

The Acting Minister also underscored the importance of actively promoting Ukrainian content abroad, as it plays a vital role in reinforcing national identity and countering disinformation.

Separately, the Ukrainian side voiced concern over recent performances by russian cultural figures in Switzerland, emphasizing the importance of preventing the dissemination of propaganda that contradicts the values of peace and mutual respect upheld by the international community.

Felix Baumann outlined Switzerland’s priorities in supporting Ukraine and spoke about the recently published “Cultural Profile of Communities in Sumy Region”, issued with Swiss support. He reaffirmed Switzerland’s continued commitment to assisting Ukraine in its cultural and humanitarian efforts.
