On February 1-2, 2025, at the “Cooperation for Resilience” Conference in Uzhhorod, Mykola Tochytskyi, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, met with Ernest Urtasun Domènech, the Minister of Culture of Spain.

Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to Spain for its significant financial support to Ukraine’s cultural sector since the onset of the large-scale russian invasion.
They also focused on specific cultural projects.
The ministers discussed organizing exhibitions of collections from Ukrainian museums at Spain’s Museo del Prado and Thyssen-Bornemisza Museum, as well as other museums in Spain. Both ministers noted the significant potential for sharing restoration expertise and developing training programs for Ukrainian restorers. The Ukrainian delegation also expressed interest in continuing to introduce audio guides in Ukrainian in Spanish museums, an initiative supported by Ukraine’s First Lady, Olena Zelenska.

They also discussed collaboration in publishing and translation, highlighting the need to expand the translation of Spanish literature into Ukrainian and vice versa.
Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to Urtasun Domènech for attending Ukraine’s first international culture conference and supporting the Declaration to strengthen Ukraine’s cultural sector.
Urtasun Domènech, in turn, congratulated Ukraine on successfully hosting the event and emphasized the importance of continued cultural cooperation.
