The first phone conversation took place today between Ukraine’s Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications, Mykola Tochytskyi, and Italy’s Minister of Culture, Alessandro Giuli, since their respective appointments.

During the conversation, Tochytskyi expressed his gratitude for Giuli’s significant personal contribution to the restoration and preservation of Ukraine’s cultural heritage during his leadership of the MAXXI Foundation (2022-2024), particularly for his role in implementing the “Laboratory for Ukraine’s Reconstruction” project.

Tochytskyi also expressed hope for the continuation of fruitful cooperation on this and other important projects in Giuli’s new role as Italy’s Minister of Culture.

The ministers discussed issues related to the protection and promotion of cultural identity, which will soon be addressed at the G7 Ministers of Culture Meeting in Naples.

Additionally, both parties exchanged views on the concept of joint actions, new initiatives, and uniting efforts to protect Ukraine’s cultural identity.
