Mykola Tochytskyi met with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink

On January 7, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine Mykola Tochytskyi met with the U.S. Ambassador to Ukraine Bridget Brink, the Director for Ukraine at the U.S. National Security Council Win Swanton and the Political Officer at the U.S. Embassy in Ukraine Anton Cooper.

The participants discussed opportunities for cooperation in strategic communications and efforts to counter russian disinformation. Mykola Tochytskyi emphasized the need to change approaches to addressing propaganda threats. “It is essential to actively create and share our own narratives that highlight the unity of Ukrainian society and the support of our international partners”, stated the Minister.

Parties also discussed the development of civic education technologies in Ukraine and the decolonization of Ukrainian studies abroad.Special attention was focused on the need to increase sanctions pressure on the aggressor for crimes against Ukraine’s cultural heritage. The meeting was a significant step in enhancing cooperation between Ukraine and the United States in information security and strategic communications.
