On June 27 in Warsaw, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, took part in the Polish-Ukrainian Prayer Breakfast held in the Sejm of the Republic of Poland.
The event brought together religious, political, and community leaders from both Poland and Ukraine.

Participants included Deputy Speaker of the Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine Olena Kondratiuk, Minister of Culture and National Heritage of Poland Hanna Wróblewska, Chair of the Sejm’s Committee for Cooperation with Ukraine Paweł Kowal, Deputy Foreign Minister of Ukraine Oleksandr Mishchenko, Ambassador of Ukraine to Poland Vasyl Zvarych, Archbishop Wojciech Polak, the Primate of Poland, and Archbishop Sviatoslav Shevchuk, Head of the Ukrainian Greek Catholic Church. Clergy from both countries attended, including representatives of the All-Ukrainian Council of Churches and Religious Organizations. The Ukrainian choir “Basileus”, led by Roman I. Drozd, added a special spiritual atmosphere to the event.
The breakfast also featured a discussion titled “Ukraine in the New Europe: The Role of Churches”. Speakers explored the spiritual dimension of Ukrainian’s resistance to russian aggression, the role of religious organizations in supporting civil society and national spirit.

In his speech, Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to the Polish side for organizing the event and highlighted the important role of churches in building unity and understanding. “The history of Ukrainian-Polish relations shows that unity and mutual understanding are key in the face of aggression,” he said. “Now more than ever, we need strong internal unity — based on the values at the heart of the Christian tradition: love, truth, and respect”.
He also praised the strong trust and cooperation between the ministries of culture of both countries, and thanked Hanna Wróblewska for her efforts to deepen this partnership.
The event was initiated by Paweł Kowal, Chair of the Sejm’s Foreign Affairs Committee, in cooperation with the Catholic Information Agency. Its goal was to support dialogue and reflect on Ukraine’s role in shaping a new European framework for security and values after the war.
