Mykola Tochytskyi: We highly appreciate the strong support for Ukraine’s cultural heritage, as reflected in the Naples Initiative of the G7  Culture Ministerial

On September 20, within the framework of the G7 Culture Ministerial in Naples, Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, Mykola Tochytskyi, held a bilateral meeting with Minister of Culture of Italy, Alessandro Giuli.

Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude for Italy’s strong support in protecting and preserving Ukraine’s cultural heritage amidst the aggressive war waged by russia against the Ukrainian people.

“It is highly valuable that Italy supports international efforts to restore and preserve Ukraine’s cultural heritage, particularly the Vilnius Call for Action, which has already been signed by over 40 countries and international organizations,” stated Mykola Tochytskyi.

He also emphasized the importance of today’s decisions, particularly in continuing the work on the Naples Initiative of the G7 Culture Ministerial.

During the meeting, the parties discussed the prospects of a multilateral document on the creation of a cultural and humanitarian coalition, tentatively titled the “Naples Initiative,” aimed at improving further coordination of efforts for cultural resilience.

In conclusion, Mykola Tochytskyi emphasized the importance of giving due attention to the restoration of Ukraine’s historical and cultural heritage within the discussions of the Ukraine Recovery Conference, which will take place next year in Italy.
