On the eve of the holidays, the Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko and Deputy Minister, Anastasia Bondar spoke with the Regional Director of Netflix, Alex Long. It was about strengthening cooperation regarding Ukraine’s audiovisual sector, additional educational activities and popularization of Ukrainian film products for the Netflix audience.

“This is a real breakthrough, and we are very grateful to our partners, with whom we maintain a constant dialogue. Besides, this year Netflix demonstrated its support for Ukrainian film, television and documentary industry in Ukraine. For this, they cooperate with the Ukrainian Film Academy and House of Europe. Their initiatives included grants, master classes, and early-stage development (or ‘start up’) funding for 48 new Ukrainian-language TV, film, and documentary projects. We thank the Netflix team for their support, constant contact and promptness in decision-making,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

MCIP is constantly in touch with representatives of the Netflix company. The result of this is an increase in the number of Ukrainian films and Ukrainian translations of foreign films on the platform in 2022.
