The Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, Oleksandr Tkachenko, congratulated Sweden on their victory at the Eurovision Song Contest 2023. He also emphasized the importance of mentioning the war from the stage of the international song contest.

“I congratulate Sweden on their victory at Eurovision 2023! It was truly a historic Eurovision, in honor of Ukraine and on its behalf in Great Britain. It symbolized the unity of the civilized world, united by culture, music, common values, and a vision of the future. Unity even when there are no common physical borders, but there are mental ones. At the time when russia was shelling Ukraine again, words of support for our country were constantly heard from various parts of Europe from the stage,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko.

The Minister thanked the government and people of Great Britain, the city of Liverpool and its residents, and everyone who was involved in the organization of this Ukrainian-British contest, including the BBC.

“Together we are strong. And the victory will be ours,” summed up the Ukraine’s Minister.
