Oleksandr Tkachenko in a new blog for The Guardian: Ukraine strongly calls to boycott russian culture

Blog of Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine,  was published in the columns of The Guardian.

“As the Minister of Culture of Ukraine, I call to boycott Tchaikovsky until this war is over”.

“Culture cannot be outside of politics. Especially when culture is one of the types of politics used by a nuclear terrorist state as a weapon in the war against world democracy. And now the war is not only for the territorial integrity of Ukraine, for human life – the war is for Ukrainian culture”.

“The terrible war opened a paradoxical window of opportunities for Ukrainians to be seen and heard. Through pain and tragedy, we are rediscovering Ukrainian culture in the international information field”.

“Along with political and economic sanctions, it is necessary to strengthen efforts to boycott russia’s presence in the international cultural space if we are to defeat the totalitarian russian regime”.
