At the “Cooperation for Resilience” Conference in Uzhhorod, Mykola Tochytskyi, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, met with Lina Mendoni, the Minister of Culture of Greece.

Ukraine’s Minister expressed gratitude for Mendoni’s participation in the Conference and Greece’s support of the Declaration to strengthen the resilience of Ukraine’s cultural sector.
The conversation centered on enhancing cooperation in cultural heritage preservation, with an emphasis on exchanging restoration and conservation expertise and organizing training programs for Ukrainian specialists. Greece’s Minister confirmed the country’s readiness to participate in restoration projects in Ukraine.

Lina Mendoni expressed her condolences for the missile strike on Odesa’s historic center and reaffirmed Greece’s commitment to supporting restoration efforts in the city. She highlighted the significant role of culture and cultural tourism in aiding Ukraine’s economic recovery.
Additionally, both ministers stressed the importance of collaboration in combating the illicit trafficking of cultural property and explored opportunities for cooperation in archaeological research and underwater exploration.
