On April 1, Mykola Tochytskyi, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine, met with Sergiu Prodan, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Moldova, during a working visit to Moldova.

In Chișinău, they discussed opportunities for joint projects in theater, cinema, museum exhibitions, cultural heritage preservation, and improving accessibility in the cultural sector.
Mykola Tochytskyi provided updated data on the severe damage caused by russian aggression in Ukraine, with 1,419 cultural heritage sites and 2,233 cultural infrastructure objects affected.
The main focus of future cooperation will be on joint restoration projects to rebuild cultural sites damaged by the war, as well as sharing expertise in heritage conservation and museum management.
Both ministers highlighted their commitment to strengthening cooperation in protecting cultural values, with a particular emphasis on formalizing this partnership through an interdepartmental agreement.
The ministers also discussed the possibility of joint initiatives under UNESCO, exploring ways to cooperate internationally on cultural preservation.
A key topic was organizing joint exhibitions and cultural events to highlight the scale of cultural destruction and raise global awareness. They also emphasized the need to tackle disinformation in historical research through collaborative projects.
