The Ministry of Culture of Ukraine is now accepting nominations for candidates to serve on two permanent bodies of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide — the Expert Board and the Supervisory Council. These bodies are tasked with ensuring high standards of scholarly work, effective management, and transparent oversight of the Museum’s activities.
We invite both Ukrainian and international institutions to contribute to the formation of these boards, which will play a key role in the Museum’s development and strategic governance.
The Expert Board of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide is an advisory body that coordinates the Museum’s scientific and research activities. The Board operates continuously, and the term of office for its members is five years. Its purpose is to enhance the Museum’s research, educational and guided tours, exhibitions, publishing, collection management, and methodological activities.
The Expert Board will consist of:
- Six experts and/or scholars nominated by Ukrainian public associations and academic institutions;
- Six experts and/or scholars nominated by international organizations, international NGOs, or foreign academic institutions.

The Supervisory Council of the National Museum of the Holodomor-Genocide is a special oversight body responsible for monitoring the Museum and its officials. The term of office for its members is five years, and no individual may serve two consecutive terms. The Supervisory Board ensures a balance of interests between the state, society, and cultural stakeholders, while upholding the principles of legality, independence, openness, transparency, accessibility, gender equality, social inclusion, and non-discrimination.
The Supervisory Council will consist of:
- Six members nominated by Ukrainian public associations;
- Six members nominated by international organizations, international NGOs, or Ukrainian diaspora organizations.
All candidates must have an impeccable professional reputation, high public authority, and be recognized experts in their respective fields.
