On June 24, Ukrainian President Volodymyr Zelenskyy announced that the United States of America is providing funding for the urgent printing of children’s books in Ukraine, including school textbooks. The President mentioned this in his traditional video address.
“I also want to thank the United States today for their new decision to support our people. Timely humanitarian aid – America is allocating funding for the urgent printing of children’s books in Ukraine,” said Zelenskyy.
According to him, the USA will fund the printing of three million copies, including textbooks, which will be printed in Ukraine and ready by the start of the school year. This support is especially important at a time “at a time when the Russian occupier is literally destroying everything, including Ukrainian culture, and the infrastructure for culture and education.”
It is worth noting that President Volodymyr Zelenskyy previously signed law No. 11251, which establishes a mechanism for young people to receive state assistance for books.
