On January 14–15, Vienna hosted the inaugural session of the Joint Committee under the Agreement on Cooperation in Education, Science, and Culture between the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine and the Government of the Republic of Austria, as of March 14, 2018.
The Ukrainian delegation consisted of First Deputy Minister of Education and Science Yevhen Kudriavtsev, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications Galyna Grygorenko, and Acting Head of the State Agency for Arts and Art Education Olga Rossoshanska.
During the session, the parties signed the Cooperation Program in Education, Science, and Culture for 2025–2030. The Program focuses on fostering collaboration between cultural institutions, sharing knowledge and expertise, and supporting joint research and artistic projects.
The Program also includes measures to enhance cultural exchange and joint scientific efforts between the two nations, such as mutual support in international organizations focused on culture, science, and education, as well as expert exchanges and other initiatives.
“We are grateful to Austria for supporting Ukrainian artists since the onset of the full-scale invasion, particularly through the Office Ukraine initiative. Today, we begin a new chapter of long-term cooperation, emphasizing collaboration in education, science, and culture over the next five years. These areas are vital for promoting democratic societies and sustainable development. While we share a rich history, we also look forward to a common European future. This Program will create new opportunities for professional connections and mutual understanding between our countries,” said Galyna Grygorenko, First Deputy Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications.
