Ukraine and Bulgaria strengthen cultural cooperation

During the “Cooperation for Resilience” Conference, Mykola Tochytskyi, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine met with Marian Bachev, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Bulgaria, for a bilateral discussion. This marked Bachev’s first official visit to Ukraine, underscoring Bulgaria’s commitment to strengthening cultural ties.

The discussion centered on updating the legal framework for cultural relations. Mykola Tochytskyi highlighted the need for closer cooperation between Ukrainian and Bulgarian museums, especially in exhibiting Ukrainian collections in Bulgaria, including those impacted by the war. He also stressed the importance of expanding touring opportunities for Ukrainian performing arts groups to enhance cultural exchange.

Marian Bachev supported these initiatives, expressing confidence that the “Cooperation for Resilience”  Conference would strengthen cultural ties. He reaffirmed Bulgaria’s commitment to supporting Ukraine’s cultural sector and long-term cooperation.  

Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to Marian Bachev for his valuable contribution to the Conference and for Bulgaria’s endorsement of the Declaration adopted at the event.
