On November 1, Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine, met with Helir-Valdor Seeder, First Vice-President of the Riigikogu, as well as Kaimo Kuusko, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine.

During the meeting, they discussed the cultural life of Ukraine during the war, support for cultural and art education institutions, book publishing, and the fight against russian propaganda.

Ukrainian culture during the war is our cultural front. Many artists stayed at home, despite everything, and continue to support our citizens. After all, Ukrainians are currently experiencing all the horrors of an aggressive war. At the same time, the artists themselves also need support. Ukraine is now on the front line and is fighting for the values of the civilized world. That is why we need a united rear in the form of support from the EU and our partners to help representatives of culture in Ukraine, as well as our media and book publishers. I thank the Estonian partners for their support,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.

The Minister informed the representatives of Estonia about how the Ukrainian cultural sphere lives during the war, and also emphasized the need to support Ukrainian book publishing. In addition, Oleksandr Tkachenko emphasized the importance of joining the efforts of the countries of the European Union in the joint fight against russian propaganda narratives.

Among the participants of the discussion: Helir-Valdor Seeder, First Vice-President of the Riigikogu; Kaimo Kuusk, Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of the Republic of Estonia to Ukraine; Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine; Vahur Soosaar, Councellor of Estonian Embassy (Economic Affairs, Development Cooperation and Humanitarian Aid, Political Affairs) and others.
