On February 13, during his visit to Germany, Mykola Tochytskyi, the Minister of Culture and Strategic Communications of Ukraine met with Asta Vrečko, the Minister of Culture of the Republic of Slovenia, to strengthen cultural cooperation.

Mykola Tochytskyi expressed gratitude to Slovenia for supporting Ukraine’s cultural resilience, especially for joining the Declaration adopted at the “Cooperation for Resilience” Conference on February 1 in Uzhhorod. He stressed the importance of global efforts to protect Ukrainian culture during the war.

The ministers discussed expanding cooperation in cultural heritage preservation, including training Ukrainian restoration specialists and evacuating cultural artifacts. They also emphasized culture’s role in veterans’ psychological recovery and considered joint historical research and museum partnerships.

Ukraine’s Minister congratulated Slovenia and Nova Gorica on being named the “European Capital of Culture 2025”. Both sides reaffirmed their commitment to strengthening sister-city ties between Ukraine and Slovenia.
