On December 12, in Paris, Minister of Culture and Information Policy Oleksandr Tkachenko together with Ukraine’s First Lady Olena Zelenska visited the National Library of France.
In one of the oldest libraries in Europe, rarities are stored, in particular, related to Ukrainian history – a letter signed by Queen of France Anna Yaroslavna. Also, this treasury contains many handwritten works of famous Frenchmen.
“The Ukrainian bookshelf in the museum is already working. We added a book dedicated to three generations of the same family — Ingigerda of Sweden, Anna Yaroslavna and Edigna of Bavaria. It is symbolic that we visited this treasury and replenished the Ukrainian bookshelf fund during the National Reading Week, which began in Ukraine,” said Oleksandr Tkachenko, Minister of Culture and Information Policy of Ukraine.
The library was under reconstruction for almost 12 years. Now it is open to tourists and readers, so that you can enjoy the atmosphere of the old library, join the study of history and literature.
