31 August, a meeting of the Committee of Verkhovna Rada of Ukraine on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy took place, where the draft Law “On foreign broadcasting system of Ukraine” was unanimously supported.
This normative document, developed by the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, was also unanimously supported by the Government of Ukraine and sent to the Parliament. The law provides the establishment of a system of public foreign broadcasting that will allow to tell information on events in Ukraine to millions of Ukrainians living abroad.
Chairman of the Committee on Freedom of Speech and Information Policy Syumar Victoria: “This law is timely, it is necessary to Ukraine, it will provide an opportunity to bring the truth about Ukraine”.
During the meeting, the Committee sent the draft law for consideration in the first reading as urgent.
Recall that last week during a meeting of the Government, Minister Yurii Stets presented a multimedia foreign broadcasting platform, that will fully function after the draft law adaption. Then Yurii Stets said: “The day after the adoption of the draft Law “On foreign broadcasting system of Ukraine” we will launch a multimedia foreign broadcasting platform of Ukraine”.
