26 October 2015, Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets decided on appointment of Advisor on Information Policy of Crimea – Emine Dzheppar, journalist, producer, and social activist on the Crimean Tatars matters. The decision on appointment is made on the recommendation of the Commissioner of the President of Ukraine for the Crimean Tatar people Mustafa Dzhemilev.
As Yurii Stets noted, the key tasks of Emine Dzheppar will be: providing freedom of speech in the Ukrainian Crimea and dissemination of Ukrainian media in the Crimean information space.
Yurii Stets: “Emine Dzheppar will continue to work on the Crimea matter to be topical in national, regional media, and will ensure dissemination of information about the peninsula outside Ukraine. This is a person with an open heart, who cares for the fate of its people, and I’m sure that she will do everything possible to counteract curtailing freedom of speech in the Crimea”.
“My 5-year-old daughter once asked me: “Mom, why do we go from the Crimea? When we will return? “. Then I didn’t find the right answer. I want to have it, so I act. All that I have done and will do in the profession is a search of this answer”, – Emine commented on the appointment.
Recall that until recently Advisor to the Minister on Information Policy of Crimea was Sergii Kostynskyi. 14 September 2015 by the Decree of the President of Ukraine he was appointed a member of the National Television and Radio Broadcasting Council of Ukraine.
