SPEAKER OF THE MINISTRY OF INFORMATION POLICY
December 15 Minister of Information Policy Yurii Stets held a working session on protection of the national information space featuring an external consultant to the Ministry of Defense from Ukrainian Crisis Media Center Tetiana Popova, Director General of the Broadcasting, Radiocommunications, and Television Concern Oleksandr Pivniuk, Chairman of the National Council of Ukraine on Television and Radio Broadcasting Yurii Artemenko, Head of the State Committee for Television and Radio Broadcasting of Ukraine Oleg Nalyvaiko, and the Head of the Anti-Terrorist Centre of the Security Service of Ukraine Vasyl Grytsak.
The issues of organizing the recovery of broadcasting signal of Ukrainian TV channels on temporarily occupied territories, particularly in the cities of Alchevsk, Horlivka, Donetsk, Luhansk, and other temporarily occupied settlements of Donbas were discussed at the meeting.
The members of the meeting developed a protection plan for relocation of retransmitters on the part of the Ministry of Defense of Ukraine and worked out the logistics scheme for distribution of printed media in ATO area and on temporarily occupied territories.
“In the nearest time, we must ensure the right of Donetsk and Luhansk residents to get unbiased information and know the official position of the government on important issues and events taking place in our country from Ukrainian media. This is a priority task on the agenda to ensure the restoration of the territorial integrity of Ukraine,” the Minister stressed.
