On 13 February 2018, at the request of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine to the European Office of Facebook, more than 20 pages of central bodies of executive power and more than 10 pages of top figures of state institutions were verified.
Dmytro Zolotukhin, the Deputy Minister of Information Policy of Ukraine, noted: “The verification of pages of bodies of power on Facebook enables prevention of the use of modern communication technologies to deceive users or create fake pages. We at the Ministry will continue verifying pages, this time of the security institutions, and will protect the interests of Ukrainians on social media.”
In particular, the following pages were verified:
The ‘Verified’ mark was also given to the pages of Viacheslav Kyrylenko, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine; Volodymyr Kistion, the Vice Prime Minister of Ukraine; Oleksandr Saienko, Minister of the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine; Hennadii Zubko, the Vice Prime Minister, Minister of Regional Development, Construction, Housing and Utilities of Ukraine; Ihor Nasalyk, the Minister of Energy and Coal Industry of Ukraine; Yevhen Nyshchuk, the Minister of Culture of Ukraine; Andrii Reva, the Minister of Social Policy of Ukraine; Maksym Sokoliuk, the Head of the State Migration Service of Ukraine; Petro Tzyhykalo, the Head of the State Border Service of Ukraine; Mykola Chechotkin, the Head of the State Emergency Service of Ukraine; Serhii Kniaziev, the Head of the National Police of Ukraine.
Please be advised that the Ministry is planning trainings for public officials on the rules of managing official pages on social media.
It should be recalled that on 13 December 2017 MIP initiated the joint verification of official pages of central bodies of state power on Facebook within the framework of a training for state bodies officials on managing negative information.
