26 January 2016, a meeting of the Minister of information policy of Ukraine Yurii Stets and his deputies with the Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Natasha Prah took place.

During the meeting, her Excellency Natasha Prah handed over from Slovenia transmitting equipment to renew broadcasting in the east of the country, in ATO zone.

Yurii Stets: “For us it is a sign of support and friendliness during the time when we are calling the whole world for help. I am sincerely grateful for their initiative in providing assistance from Slovenia. We appeal to all partner-countries to provide us with this transmission equipment. When someone helps us – we are grateful, but when someone comes and offers help, as in your case, we are doubly grateful”.

The Minister also added that since the media of separatists in frontline and in the occupied territories of the east of the country is using analog transmission techniques, then we need to jam their signal by the same transmitters to ensure functioning of the Ukrainian broadcasting.

Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Slovenia in Ukraine Mrs. Natasha Prah noted the importance of informational support between countries. Following the meeting, the sides agreed on further cooperation in this direction.

We will remind that earlier Ukraine has already received equipment from Western partners: Poland, the Lithuanian Republic, the Latvian Republic, the United States of America and Great Britain. Some equipment already has been installed in ATO zone, another part of it will be allocated by the Commission on ensuring stable operation of national television and radio broadcasting under MIP depending on the needs of the region based on monitoring results.
