Ukraine NOW, Ukraine’s single brand designed by Banda Agency, has been given the RedDot Design Award, one of the most respected awards in the design world, in the Corporate Identity nomination.
“This is recognition of our creative industry and the excellent promotion of the state. Works recognized by the award are exhibited in the leading museums of contemporary design Red Dot in Germany’s Essen. It is true that an excellent image cannot be made by pure graphics but is an important part of it. So, we will continue work on the brand so that foreigners will recognise, respect and admire the achievements of our country,” the Prime Minister of Ukraine, Volodymyr Hroisman, was quoted as saying.
The State Secretary of the Ministry of Information Policy of Ukraine, Artem Bidenko, stressed that this achievement is the result of teamwork. “Surely this is an incredible but predictable result, since it is the result of powerful teamwork. This is a good example that you need to keep at you work, believe in it, fight for it. And we will continue to promote Ukraine in the world and seek professional recognition,” noted Mr Bidenko.
In 2018, 24 experts reviewed more than 8,600 works from 45 countries within the framework of the competition.
“You have to be really proud of winning Red Dot for your work. The Ukraine NOW project swayed the jury of the award… this is nicely made branding for the whole country,” Louisa Milk, Head of Red Dot Design Award, commended the winners.
The awarding ceremony will take place in Berlin on 26 October.
On 10 May 2018, the Cabinet of Ministers of Ukraine approved the Ukraine NOW brand, designed by Ukraine-based Banda Agency within the framework of the Commission on Promotion of Ukraine under the Ministry of Information Policy.
In 2017, Banda Agency were awarded Red Dot for its VDNH design and Red Dot Grand Prix, the main award, for the 2017 Eurovision branding together with the agency Republique.
